My love for The Brady Bunch is no secret. As an only child, I watched the show in awe, fascinated by the idea of having so many siblings, sharing a home with multiple kids. As a college student, I leaned into the retro kitschy-ness of it all, watching reruns and logging episodes with my roommates in our apartment. As an adult, I relished the reboots and parodies, the films and reunions. And as a parent, I loved getting to share my favorite TV family with my own family!
So in 2006, when we first took our kids to Los Angeles, we made sure to visit the Brady house—the Studio City home used for the show’s exterior shots. And we repeated that pilgrimage over the years.

Then the house went on the market. Countless friends sent me links, made the jokes, suggested I should make a bid. I thought it was cool that Lance Bass wanted the house, but I was overjoyed to learn that HGTV actually got it. In 2019, A Very Brady Renovation was underway—a televised project to make the inside of that famous house match the Brady residence interiors we knew and loved. HGTV designers and all six Brady “kids” worked together to recreate the set, from the astroturf backyard to Greg’s groovy attic.
Thus began my quest to GET INSIDE THAT HOUSE. After the reno show aired, I watched as celebrities and influencers toured it. When a Brady superfan bought the home from HGTV, she opened the house to contest winners, so I eagerly entered sweepstakes, filling out 100 postcards with hopes that one would get me in. No luck. Then the day came when “The Brady Experience” offered private, self-guided tours for a fee. It was a hefty fee, but it was within reach. And who can put a price on fulfilling a dream? (On second thought, I CAN.)
When Ryan decided to go to LA for the Jaws exhibition at the end of May, you betcha I contacted Brady Experience to book our tour! At my urging, Brett decided to join me, considering his attendance as my anniversary gift. I’m so glad he did because it was so much more fun with him there!
So now, it is my great pleasure to present…
THE BRADY BUNCH HOUSE!
*SPOILER ALERT!* If you plan to visit the house, bookmark this post (and the videos) for later! You'll want to be surprised by all the fun Easter eggs throughout the house.

Mike's Study
Oh-so-MCM
The fireplace with half-wall open to the living room
The couch where Jan utters the famous "Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!" line
Mike's drafting table
Two tubes for his plans? That could be problematic if the family ever visits a theme park and buys THE WORST THEME PARK SOUVENIR EVER requiring the use of one of those tubes.
Oh, look! It's the sketch of a factory shaped like a powder puff! Must be for Beebe Gallini.
Classic design
Kitchen
I could deal with a kitchen this color.
Gotta help Alice remember her family recipe.
View of the breakfast nook
So many great scenes set around the breakfast table!
Family Room
In my childhood home, we had a dual sleeper that we used as a couch in our den, too
We also had a similar hi-fi with the fold-down record player.
Checkers, anyone?
The cat pottery keeps an eye on Tiger.
Greg really should keep his playbook in a safer place!
Can't you just imagine watching the Silver Platters on that TV?
Gotta have the payphone!
Good Tiger!
I spy pom-poms! "One, two, tell me who are you? THE BEARS!"
Mike and Carol's Bedroom
Love that screen behind the bed!
Carol's dressing table
Florence Henderson was born on Valentine's Day, so she loved hearts throughout her life. With that in mind, her daughter selected this heart-shaped box for the dressing table.
This photo of Carol's grandmother (from the "You're Never Too Old" episode)
hangs above the dressing table.
Wedding photo above the chest of drawers
Carol's "Dear Libby" letter
The ensuite bathroom
No toilet in this bathroom, but it does have foam curlers and Noxzema!
Girls' Bedroom
The "Butterfly of Love" and weird cat posters are instantly recognizable!
Eve Plumb created this painting for the room (and signed it "Jan").
Kitty Karry-All
Jan's locket, a gift from fellow middle child, Alice
The sketch that almost costs Marcia her slumber party.
(It's really her attempt at drawing George Washington!)

Jan's wig!
The never-seen toilet!
The Boys' Bedroom
Love the baseball photos and "Boy Hero" newspaper clipping
Greg's been writing songs again! Note the movie camera back there, too.
That could come in handy if you were to make a movie about the pilgrims.
How many of us wanted bunkbeds thanks to the Bradys?
Greg's Attic Bedroom
Groovy space!
Nice touch to have the box from Driscoll Toy Shop (where Peter gets
a shopping spree for saving a little girl from a collapsing bookcase)
The Beatles aren't mentioned on the show, but this
American release would've fit that time period.
Raquel, is that you? What's the Coolidge High mascot doing in a Westdale student's room?
Alice's Bedroom
Those snapshots represent her loves (including Sherwood Schwartz?).
Romance novels
Hawaii hula lesson memories (before her "HU" went one way and her "LA" went the other!)
Freshly pressed uniforms
Her signature sneaks
Oh, Sam!
This print is another Eve Plumb artwork
Just outside Alice's room is the laundry room with the Safe detergent
(from the "And Now, a Word From our Sponsor" episode)
Backyard and Garage
Swingset and teeter-totter
RIP Tiger and Fluffy!
Can confirm there is Astroturf back there! (We are in our socks
because visitors must remove their shoes at the front door.)
Shooting hoops
Egg on the traffic cone from the driving contest between Marcia and Greg
Plenty of bikes for those Brady boys to fix!
Nice recreation of the family's dunking booth for the school carnival
Exterior
Another photo in front of "4222 Clinton Way"!
This visit was a blast! We used all 90 minutes we paid for, and that time just flew by. I'm so very glad we could indulge in this bucket-list adventure.
Selfies galore!
To further document this fever dream, I made this video, more for myself than for other Brady fans! I never want to forget how it felt to step into the oh-so-familiar Brady residence.
Brett did his own video for his YouTube channel, so here it is, too!
And that's the way we became the Brady Bunch—for a morning, at least!
