What a finish.

Katie's eighth grade basketball season came to a close with the district tournament.

Katie's team won their opening round game, which qualified them to play in the silver bracket championship in the district's coliseum. It was fun to watch them play this season-ending game in such a big venue.

The Lady Wildcats lost the championship game, but coming in second in their bracket's not bad!

Afterwards, Katie got a little emotional when it was time to take the last team photo.

Her friend helped her dry her eyes.

What a team! What a season!

Basketball 2011: HMS.

Dec. 8:
Part 1 of this night's double-header was Katie's game against HMS. After the game, we had to hustle to get her to the high school auditorium for her band concert. Good thing she's in the honor band, or she would've missed her part of the performance!

Speaking of performance, she had another strong showing in this game.

Don't look now, but it's BASKETBALL season! Even though NRMS lost this first game against Central JH, we're still excited to see what this year will bring.

Katie's been having some back pain over the last few months, so we were afraid that might get in the way of her game. For this first game, her back was still a little troublesome, but she still started on the A team.

We don't remember how many points Katie scored, but we do know she scored the first points!
