Fun with Billy the Kidney.

 March 24, 2012

Since my mom's a dialysis patient and my sister-in-law is a nurse in a dialysis unit, participating in the National Kidney Foundation's local walk was a no-brainer.

Coal needed a Sonic pit stop before the walk.

It was fun getting to meet Kelly's work friends, and it was a gorgeous morning for a brisk walk.

I LOVED this team's "Hello Kitty" logo.

Kelly's team? The Nephromaniacs!

Billy the Kidney greeted us at the finish.

Spring is bustin' out all over.

 March 12, 2012

One of the best things about spring break is being able to spend some time with my sweet husband. It's nice to get to join him on his afternoon walks. Another benefit: getting to walk in daylight! During the school year, I try to run three mornings a week, but since we have to leave for school so early, I'm usually hitting the road well before sunrise.

Hitting the trails in daylight means I can actually run the trails instead of the streets, and we get to see sights like:

Love it!

Thank you, Frisco, for sharing your daddy with me this week!

I think I'll go for a walk outside now...

The summer (well, SPRING) sun's callin' my name. I hear ya now.

Just can't stay inside all day. Gotta get out, get me some of those rays!

Everybody's smilin' (sunshine day). Everybody's laughin' (sunshine day).

Everybody seems so happy today.
It's a sunshine day!

A walk in the park.

After lunch the sidewalks were mostly dry, so Brett, Katie and I headed to our neighborhood trails. It was still pretty chilly, but the sun and the exercise kept us warm.
