Fourteen years ago today.

I can't believe it's been 14 years since this picture was taken!

We wanted to take some photos before the ceremony, so the photographer suggested he give Brett and me a moment alone first. The photographer stood me up on the stage and cleared out the auditorium before letting Brett come in. It was our first time to see each other on our wedding day, and it was such a special moment! No one was in the room, but when the photographer returned, he took this picture to try to capture our emotions.

On that day, my dear friend Jim Reese was our officiant:
Jim was my campus minister at the UA church in Austin, and I just love him and his wife, Jody! It made our special day even more precious since they were able to join us.

Then, on our 10th anniversary, we had another officiant:Our "Elvis" was a stranger to us, and he strangely didn't look all that much like Elvis! He sang like him, though, and he helped us relax and have a blast renewing our vows.

Because we're busy tonight, Brett and I went to Blue Mesa and then to see a movie last night. As much fun as our date was, the best part of it was knowing that afterwards we could return to our home, our family that we've built together.

(More wedding pix are in last year's post.)

Happy Anniversary!

Jason and I did the same thing- had some alone time before the wedding. I stood at the alter and he got to walk down and see me, twirled me around in my dress, and really got to visit before all the craziness started. It was a special time!!

Glad you had a good day!
